Articles and book chapters are usually delivered to you electronically within 1-2 business days.

Physical items (books, DVDs, CDs, etc.) usually take at least a week to arrive. Travel time varies depending on how far away the lending library is and how they choose to ship items.

We recommend that you allow at least two weeks to receive ILL items. Delays are possible depending on how much detail you provide in your citation, how widely available the item is, and whether your request was submitted near a weekend or holiday when most libraries are unable to process ILLs.

Talk with a librarian if you're concerned you may not have enough time to receive an item by ILL. We can help you minimize delivery times or search for substitute sources.
