Creative Commons licenses are copyright licenses provided by Creative Commons which accomplish two main things. They make it easy for copyright owners to communicate how, when, and where their works may be used, and they make it easy for copyright users to understand how, when, and where works can be used. Creative Commons does this by taking legal jargon that only lawyers understand, clarifying the jargon into language everyday people can understand, then translating it further so that search engines and other technologies can understand what the lawyers and everyday people are saying.
