Armacost Library has a limited supply of lending technology, so we charge overdue fines and lost/damaged item fees to encourage students to return items promptly and in working condition so they can be lent out again to others who need them.
For Fall 2022, the amounts are:
Laptops and Tablets: $20 daily overdue fine, $1,200 lost/damaged item charge.
Ergonomic trackball/trackpad: $10 daily overdue fine, $500 lost/damaged item charge.
Audio recorders, smart pens, wireless headphones, keyboards: $5 daily overdue fine, $100 lost/damaged item charge.
To avoid charges, please note the due date on your checkout receipt and return items to the library front desk on time. Technology items are due at least one hour before the library closes to allow sufficient time for check-in. Do not place technology in library book drops where it is likely to be damaged; we cannot count items placed in book drops as returned on time.
Fines less than $25 can be paid in cash at the library front desk; larger bills need to be settled at the Cashier's Office in the Administration Building.
