We ask that you follow Armacost Library's technology borrower agreement to check out library technology. The agreement states:

Borrowing technology calls for responsibilities for both the Armacost Library and you.

When borrowing library technology, you agree to the following which are based on the library's Community Agreements and Borrowing Policies as well as University Information Technology Policies

  • Communicating with the library. You will communicate concerns and questions in a timely manner. This may involve communication with the Library, Information Technology Services, and other units. People are sometimes reluctant to reach out, but know that the Library wants to work with, and help, you be successful. This includes reporting anything that may not be working as expected.
  • Clearing Sensitive Data. You will clear sensitive data such as browser cookies and history, personal files, and login credentials. Borrowers should be present during the check-in process should questions arise.
  • Promptly Returning Items. You will return technology in proper condition to a staff member at the front desk. This must be done at least one hour before closing to ensure that the item can be properly checked in.
  • Paying Fines and Fees. You are responsible for any fines and fees that may accrue. Some costs are clearly outlined, but others will need to be determined by the circumstances. For example, while damage may be limited to a supplemental item, this could subsequently render a primary item unusable. Students should be aware that due to the high costs of some technologies, non-payment could result in lost library privileges, course registration and housing blocks.
